Avoid Sleep
"And bear problem to yourselves,

lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting,

and drunkenness, and cares of this life,

and so that day come upon you unqualified.

For as a surprise shall it come on all them

that suspension on the obverse of the whole earth.

Supervise ye so, and pray perpetually,

that ye may be accounted clear to escape all these textile

that shall come to move, and to stand prior the Son of man."

(Luke 21:34-36)

Matthew Poole, in his 1600s Take notice of on these verses from the book of Luke, wrote:

I bear the 34th verse to be a good tract of the illustration scrutinize, ver. 36. Lose sin diligently, in a coming of My coming to try [the Peer of the realm is saying]: for sin is compared to doze,

* Romans 13:11 - "And that, experienced the time, that now it is high time to insomniac out of sleep: for not is our salvation more readily than to the same degree we thought."
* Ephesians 5:14 - "Wherefore He saith, Aware thou that sleepest, and create from the dead, and Christ shall bring in thee light."

As he that watcheth doth doze, in order to some end; so he who keepeth the spiritual scrutinize need set himself designedly to elude sin, upon a coming of Christ's coming, and the vagueness of [the timing of] it.

Addition He cautioneth His disciples reluctant finery and worldly-mindedness. The pinnacle He expresseth under the brain wave of gluttony and drunkenness, which are two in height family tree of it. The latter, under the outlook of the "cares of this life"; not primitive and provident cares, but needless and unsettling cares. These textile He presseth them to elude, lest they destitution be astonished by Christ's coming, as He tells them the greatest extent of the world would be.

He expand exhorteth them to "pray perpetually":

* Ephesians 6:18 - "Praying perpetually with all prayer and defense in the Preference, and thought thereunto with all gravel and defense for all saints."
* Colossians 4:2 - "Continue in prayer, and scrutinize in the awfully with clemency."

He expand presseth what's more these duties in persons words, "That ye may be accounted clear to escape all these textile that shall come to move"; persons that destitution come to move at or prior the harm of Jerusalem [verses 8- 24], or afterward [verses 25-33]; and to stand prior the Son of Man, that is, in the closing judgment; for "The impertinent shall not stand in the try, nor sinners in the government of the worthy" (Psalm 1:5).

The Truth:

"But ye, brethren, are not in intensity,

that that day destitution service you as a marauder.

Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day;

we are not of the night, nor of intensity.

Therefore let us not doze, as do others;

but let us scrutinize and be simple.

For they that doze doze in the night;

and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.

But let us, who are of the day, be simple,..."

(1 Thessalonians 5:4-8a)
