Dupa cativa ani, si-au dat sufletul pe rand parintii (Nestor murind ca un mucenic) si sotia sa, el dedicandu-se intru totul rugaciunii, postirii si contemplarii lui Dumnezeu. A ajuns sa fie cunoscut drept facator de minuni si atotputernic peste spiritele rele. In timpul unei persecutii indreptate conflicting crestinilor, Magnus, guvernatorul din Isauria, l-a intemnitat pe Sfantul Conon, poruncind sa fie batut si injunghiat cu cutitele.
