Invoking Pentagram And Banishing Pentagram
INVOKING PENTAGRAM, AND BANISHING PENTAGRAM Merry Meet :))))) The Invoking and Banishing Pentagrams are an important gesture used frequently in Rituals and Sabbats in the Wiccan tradition. We use an Invoking Pentagram when we wish to draw something to us. A Banishing Pentagram is used to end something. :))) The Pentagram is a symbol of protection for us, that also represents the 5 elements, Earth, Air, Water, and Spirit. The diagram does an amazing job showing how to draw them properly. Typically you would use an athame in your hand and draw the gestures in the air visualizing a golden light coming from it as you do. If you do not have an athame, or choose not to use one, you can use the point of your finger as well. For those of you that may not know, an athame is a magickal knife or dagger, commonly used in rituals, ceremonies, or spellwork you may be doing. :))) The invoking pentagram is done in a clockwise motion as indicated above, while the banishing pentagram is done counter clockwise. In addition to gestures you can also carve or write these into objects you are working with to add to the magickal energy. Something that you may not know is that an upside down pentagram can also indicate banishing. I think it is used less today because so many people incorrectly associate it with the worshipping of the Devil in which we don't believe. As with everything in Wicca, you may find different methods out there. :))) I always tell you to go with what feels most comfortable for you. This is the method I was taught and the one I currently use. :)))Much Love and Many Blessings,Jasmeine Moonsong "Put A Little Magick in Your Day!"Premium edition includes daily magickal correspondences, quotes, affirmations, tarot card, spell, and an article teaching you more about your path. :))) ""HTTP://WWW.WICCANMOONSONG.COM/MOONSONG-DAILY-MAGICK.HTML"
